Does anyone really make money on HubPages?

I have worked and worked, all original content, all by myself, and I have not earned a dime.  I get visitors.  The second issue...I can't connect my hubpages to my paypal account.

Yes, of course people make money on HP...generally it's not much, but they do make some.  I don't know if you are new or have been around awhile, but it can take six to nine months for most people here before they start to make anything more than pennies.  Don't despair...just keep at it and the money will come.  As for the paypal issue, I would contact the HP team to ask for their assistance on this problem.  Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the encouragement!  I will keep writing, but it is such a slow process!

Yes, it is possible to make a bit of money.  Write a hub every week for a year, leave constructive comments on the hubs of others, and participate with questions and answers.  By the end of the year you will see some encouraging results.  But you have to stick with it.  Do not get discouraged.  Write with passion.

I haven't been leaving many comments. I've been so busy with other things, but I think from now on what I will do. is to keep writing, then when I get to hubpages, I'll start leaving comments! Thank you!

You only have 5 hubs so don't give up yet. I started making money after creating at least 10. I was so inspired about it that I created 30 more and I'm planning to continue until I can. As for the earnings, it's not  that much but at least it's constant. I already made a total of $90 after 3 months of being active here. I'm having fun and gaining new acquaintances in the process which are more than enough reasons for me to write more aside from the money.

yes, I never know which hub is going to make money but I have over 100 written so some see little traffic while other (usually the ones I didn't expect) see a great deal of traffic. You just need to find a niche and start producing.  I did the 30 hubs in 30 days not long after I started promoting my articles on twitter and pinterest.  I get a lot of my traffic through pinterest because most of my articles are food, teaching, or mom/kid stuff.

I have heard that the hubpages potential for earnings is significant.  I am a relatively new hubber but have 4 years experience on the internet.  I am excited about hubpages - since if you make the right kind of hub projects, the adsense earnings can be out of this world - even if you have to share 40% of your impressions with hubpages.  Some people earn 30%+ of their household incomes on hubpages.  My efforts are going to be toward the goal of earning a full time income - using the hubpages platform and applying everything i've learned about how to make money online.  I will be doing a series about how to create hubpages projects that will maximize earnings and yield the most potential profit.  It requires hours of work for one project - if you want to do it right - but what it comes down to is that it's the quality of your hub projects - not the quantity of hubs.  You can have a thousand hubs that, if you don't take the time for proper research, they'll just get lost in internet world.

The name of my series, which I will probably start working on writing the hubs part tomorrow, is called "Make The Money: ..." then starting with "Hubpages Potential", "What to Write About on Hubpages", "Keyword Research", and "Simple SEO for Hubpages"...it will be a multi-hub series.  I'd like for you and others to watch for it.  I've already done the research and have written an ebook on the subject that I will use for reference in writing my hubs.  I think hubpages has great potential - from experience, I've tried probably every other money making program and scheme out there.  Stay tuned for more details - if you want to read the ebook, it's available online (I used google drive to publish the manuscript) you can probably access it at tinyurl.com/yuppermakemoney

good luck...hope what I share with you in my coming hubs helps.

    Patti

Hello everyone on this question thread. It is 12 months since CJGrace and you answered the question. Have you seen any progress and what are your observations?

I noticed that doing the Apprenticeship program was a great help.

It's been 2 years of writing featured hubs.  Not a lot of them granted, but I have made a total of $110.00.  Still, I'm now working on a series of product review hubs so you never know!

Yes but you can't exactly just write anything and make money out of it.  I've been working on HubPages almost 3 years now.  The first year I just made a couple of hundred.  The second year I made $5,000 and this year I expect to make about $8,000.  I have around 300 hubs, but I've deleted about 10 which were early hubs that didn't get much traffic (I re-wrote most of my other early hubs extensively).  I have written about what to do to make money on HubPages but actually, since I've gotten started HubPages has added a lot to the learning community to help you out.  Really read what is in that learning center and follow it.  Don't necessarily follow what is written by Hubbers in terms of format (I did follow one person's ideas on how to attribute pictures which was completely wrong and plunged my hubs down significantly).  Try different Hub ideas that you know something about and look for one which really takes off and then write other hubs on that topic.  That is what has really helped me.

The world where we do live is full of competition. In any field, you need to be perfect for the particular goal and try hard to achieve it. People really  making money on hub pages are the best competitors as they have the skill to make their place. Like me, you may be working hard, but we are still to go a long way. Be optimistic and don't lose your heart. I think you have the capability to do so.

Regarding Paypal, try again after reading the terms and conditions on HubPages and PayPal as well.

Iam working it too.  No payment yet, but maybe there will be.  I won't give up.  The last few weeks have been challenging for me.  But a opportunity to improve and practice more writing.   The Pay Pal issues you may have to call them, and find out why your not connected.  Check through you email, may be they left you a update message.

Ok I have like 13 hubs now.  I had more but deleted the content and used it elsewhere.  I did this since I was doing a lot of work and getting $1 to $3 per month.  It took 18 months to get my first $50 check!  After more than a year of abandonment,  I discovered my monthly payment has doubled or even tripled with no additional effort!  Now I get $6 to $9 monthly.  I just got paid June 28,2014 $51 just 8 months since last check.  Not too shaby for a handful of hubs.  I am in the process of updating my work.  I will rewrite my hubs if need be.  Hopefully I can crank out some new works as well.

Every hub is a canvas always to be perfected and capable of generating residual income.  The key is to get them there.

I am really new here, just started yesterday, and I had my questions about if this was real or just another scam as well. Doing my homework it seems real but I am coming into this as a experiment to see where it can take me.  I am more excited about meeting people reading hubs and finding my favorites. I also just like I can know continue research and have a place to publish it and hopefully people will read it.

Sure, people do. There are success stories. I include myself as one of them though I am not at the level of earning as much as some of the success stories they use to publish. But I get a regular payout and consider that successful. And truthfully, it really comes from about 10 of my hubs. The others only get a trickle in comparison. It takes time. You will get there.

I am just new here but I am so positive about it, especially when I see people giving their comments on my hubs. It is so rewarding and I think that's more than about making money. As of now, I only have 4 hubs but I am so proud of it already because I was given this opportunity to write love poems which is my passion. Thanks to HubPages! And just keep on writing and keep the passion burning. Good luck to both of us!
